Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8 May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes the information Liquid Radius collects when you license, install, or update the app, how that information is used, who it is shared with, and the rights and choices you have. It applies to both the Liquid Radius application and the Liquid Radius website at liquidradius.com.

For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, the controller of personal information processed in connection with Liquid Radius is Liquid Radius. Enquiries about this policy, including requests to exercise the rights described below, can be sent to [email protected].

1. Overview

Liquid Radius is a macOS app that runs on your Mac. The app itself does not include analytics, usage tracking, crash reporting, advertising, or any third-party telemetry. The only times Liquid Radius contacts the internet are to activate your licence and to check for updates, both described below. The marketing site at liquidradius.com uses a single product-analytics service (PostHog) so we can understand how visitors find and use it; that is described in section 2.4.

2. Information we handle

2.1 Licence activation

When you activate Liquid Radius with your licence key, the app sends two pieces of information to our payment processor, Lemon Squeezy: your licence key and the name of your Mac (as configured in macOS, for example Oly's MacBook Pro). Lemon Squeezy uses these to track which Macs your licence is active on. The app re-sends the same request automatically about once a week so that your licence remains valid. Lemon Squeezy returns your customer email address as part of activation so the app can show "Licensed to …" in the About sheet; the email is stored on your Mac only.

Activation data is held by Lemon Squeezy under their privacy practices. We do not receive a copy of your activation history, your billing details, or your purchase record outside what Lemon Squeezy makes available through their merchant dashboard.

2.2 Update checks

Liquid Radius uses the open-source Sparkle framework to check for updates. The app fetches a small XML file from liquidradius.com/appcast.xml and, if a new version is available, downloads the update package from the same domain. The hosting provider, Cloudflare, may log standard HTTP request data (your IP address, user-agent string) as part of routine traffic logging. Liquid Radius does not use these logs for analytics, profiling, or marketing.

2.3 Preferences and local files

Your preferences (radius value, advanced toggles, licence key, customer email) are stored on your Mac using standard macOS APIs (UserDefaults). The corner-radius dynamic library is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/Liquid Radius/. A small set of marker files is created in /tmp to coordinate the on/off state. None of this data leaves your Mac. Uninstalling Liquid Radius removes all of it.

2.4 Marketing site

The liquidradius.com website uses PostHog for product analytics. PostHog records page views and a small number of explicit interaction events (for example, clicks on the Buy button) so we can understand how visitors find and use the site. The information PostHog processes about you is limited to: the page you visit, your approximate location derived from your IP address, your browser and operating system, the size of your screen, and a session identifier that links events together within a single browsing session.

Our PostHog instance is hosted at eu.i.posthog.com in the European Union and is configured with persistence: memory, which means the session identifier is stored in your browser's memory only and is cleared when you close the tab. PostHog is not used to set advertising cookies, build a marketing profile, or share information with third parties for advertising purposes. PostHog is also not used to record your individual session as video or to capture form input.

The website does not use any other analytics platform, advertising network, or third-party tracker, and does not require an account. Cloudflare (our hosting provider) may set technical cookies that are necessary for the site to operate, for example to mitigate bot traffic.

3. What we don't do

The Liquid Radius app on your Mac does not collect:

  • Telemetry or in-app product-usage data.
  • Crash reports.
  • Information about which features or settings you use.
  • Personal information beyond what is described in section 2.1.

The marketing site only uses PostHog, as described in section 2.4. We do not run any other analytics service, advertising network, email-marketing tool, or session-replay tool on the site or in the app. We do not sell, rent, share for marketing, or otherwise commercialise your data, and we do not use it to train AI models or for any purpose unrelated to providing Liquid Radius.

4. Third-party services

Liquid Radius and its website depend on three external services:

  • Lemon Squeezy processes payments and manages licences. When you buy Liquid Radius, your name, email, billing details, and licence-activation history are held by Lemon Squeezy. Their privacy practices are described in Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare hosts liquidradius.com and serves the appcast and updates. Cloudflare may log standard HTTP request data. Their privacy practices are described in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog provides website product analytics (page views and a small number of interaction events such as Buy-button clicks). Our PostHog instance is hosted in the European Union at eu.i.posthog.com. Their privacy practices are described in PostHog's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any other third parties: no email-marketing tool, no advertising network, no monitoring service, no cloud sync, no session-replay or heatmap tools.

5. Where your data is stored

  • Your Mac: preferences, licence key, the corner-radius dylib, and a small set of marker files (described in section 2.3).
  • Lemon Squeezy: your purchase record and licence-activation history. Lemon Squeezy is based in the United States.
  • Cloudflare: routine HTTP request logs, processed across Cloudflare's global network.
  • PostHog: page-view and interaction events from the marketing site, processed and stored in the European Union at eu.i.posthog.com.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with data-protection laws, the international transfer of data to Lemon Squeezy and Cloudflare relies on the standard contractual clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms operated by those providers. PostHog data is processed within the EU.

6. Legal basis for processing (EEA and UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data-protection laws, our legal bases for processing your information are:

  • Performance of a contract. To provide Liquid Radius and process your purchase, including licence activation and weekly licence validation.
  • Legitimate interests. To keep our service operational, secure, and free of fraud (for example, the routine HTTP request logs maintained by our hosting provider).
  • Compliance with legal obligations. To keep tax records, respond to lawful requests, or otherwise comply with applicable law.
  • Consent. For any specific processing to which you have explicitly consented.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:

  • The right to know what information we hold about you and to receive a copy.
  • The right to correction or deletion of your information.
  • The right to object to or restrict processing.
  • The right to data portability.
  • The right to withdraw consent for any processing that relies on consent.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. Some rights apply to data held by Lemon Squeezy directly; for purchase records, you may also need to contact them.

8. Disclosures required by law

We may disclose information where we have a good-faith belief that doing so is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, or a valid legal request from a public authority.
  • Enforce our Terms of Use, including investigating possible breaches.
  • Detect, prevent, or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of Liquid Radius, our users, or the public, as required or permitted by law.

We will not disclose information to law enforcement except in response to a valid legal process, and we will challenge requests we consider overbroad.

9. Data retention

Licence keys remain active in our payment processor's records for as long as your licence is valid, plus any retention period required by tax or accounting law. Cloudflare HTTP logs are retained according to Cloudflare's standard practice (typically days to weeks, depending on the log type). Local data on your Mac is removed when you uninstall Liquid Radius.

10. Children

Liquid Radius is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has purchased Liquid Radius, contact [email protected] and we will assist with refund and deletion of associated records.

11. Security

Communications between Liquid Radius and our payment processor and update server use HTTPS. Local preferences are stored using standard macOS APIs. We do our best to keep the small amount of information involved in licensing secure, but no system is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect product changes or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. If we make a material change we will note it on this page; for users who have purchased Liquid Radius, we may also notify you by email if the change is material.

13. Contact

For questions about this privacy policy, or to exercise any of the rights above, email [email protected].
